Our Mission:
​To promote educational opportunities for our members in the fiber arts as well as provide connections among local weavers and spinners and their guilds in Iowa, including other fiber arts such as felting, knitting, crochet, nalbinding, and tatting.

Join us for the Spring Meeting in Des Moines and take part in Fiberfest! Enjoy a fiber event featuring weaving and spinning, displays, classes, demonstrations, vendors, and food trucks.

There is a $5.00 admission fee unless you are registered for a class or joining the Iowa Federation meeting.
Monk's Belt Workshop

Explore the art of Monk’s Belt, a traditional two shuttle supplementary weft technique that produces bold, geometric patterns with striking color blocks on a plain weave background. Unlike overshot, Monk’s Belt creates a graphic, blocky design without half tones, making it perfect for dramatic and visually exciting bands.

This hands-on workshop will be held Saturday afternoon and Sunday, with Jennie guiding participants through the techniques needed to create their own Monk’s Belt designs.
