TThe Spring 2019 Iowa Federation meeting will be Hosted by the Little Sioux Spinners and Weavers Guild, in Northwest Iowa,at the Nature Center in Pocahontas on April 27, 2019. Anastasia Williams, owner of Garden Wool and Dye in Elk Point, South Dakota. She is a hand dyer who uses natural sources, such as plants, flowers and insects to obtain the colors. The morning program will be about the importance of ethics and sustainability when choosing fibers. The afternoon program will be a "Yarn Tasting," where we will learn about natural dyeing and each attendee will receive mini skeins to "test" and feel the difference of these dyes while knitting.
